My buddy Steve likes to skateboard. He is pretty good too, giving lessons on the side and spending a lot of his free time at various skate parks around the Circle City. I haven’t had the chance to see him shred, but I know he is active and has a passion for boarding. He is also into fitness, and spends a lot of time running. The organization still means a lot to him, and Skate Across Indiana will help support other CWO initiatives. The 3 big components are the motor, the ESC and the battery The motor gives the mechanical power to your wheels The ESC (electric speed controller) is the brain of your eks8, it controls the motor using the electric power from the batteries The batteries give the electric power needed for your motor 1.1. Kv, Watt &dimensions Kv or RPM/V or (Rounds per minute)/applied volt is a unit to tell how fast a motor will spin depending on the applied voltage. Whether longboarding to class or skating for leisure, those who own boards on campus represent a small fraction of the student body. Whitman’s campus isn’t exactly ideal for the sport. For skateboarding you mainly just need an open, rarely frequented area with various obstacles and terrain. If there is a skatepark nearby, obviously that is a large draw, but for Whitman students, the nearest park is in College Place. On campus, skaters use the small area outside of Olin Hall or can be seen behind North Hall practicing tricks. As for longboarding, all one really needs is a hilly area that is hopefully nicely paved, ideally with not much traffic.  In Walla Walla, serious elevation change is something of a rarity, so most long boarders on campus mainly direct their hobby toward getting to class. However, there are students who do manage to find places off ca...

Be aware of moisture Be aware of wet areas on the paths and roadways. Not only does wet pavement cause your wheels to slide out when you push, moisture can ruin your boots and wreck havoc on bearings. Moisture inside your bearings can cause them to rust and stop spinning effectively.
